Matchboxes placement in the souvenir "square" |
Souvenir matches Biysk match factory, 1979 Such souvenir "squares" were made of 4 usual matchboxes glued (as shown abobe) to two plastic or cardboard shiits. The cut-offs from usual postcard sets were used as labels. This set is a bit different because the cards were oveprinted with the text "270 years to Biysk" and because one postcard from the set (monument to Lenin) was not used - possibly not to cut off something significant to the "leader of the world revolution" :-) Presented are: 1 - The bridge over the Biya River 2 - Leo Tolstoy street 3 - Vasiliev street 4 - River landing stage 5 - Drama theatre 6 - 'Kristall' cafe 7 - Peoples House of chemical industry workers 8 - Local lore museum 9 - Komsomolsky boulevard 10 - Branch of Altay Politechnical 11 - 'Altay' tourist centre 12 - 'Vostok' hotel 13 - Monument in the Park of Heros 14 - Peoples House of building industry workers 15 - The bridge over the Biya River (label made from postcards set cover) 4A - River landing stage (Overprint variation) Labels sizes: 1-14 - 88x88 mm, 15- 82x88 mm |
