The advertisement that for a century outlasted the brand!
I think that at the first glance this wall advertisement will not raise any emotions - some dilapidated and even not quite professional ad of one more match brand.
Âut only at the first glance! Even some venerable British members of BML&BS till quite recently did not know about the existence of such a brand. No wonder - the "Puck mach" brand was discontinued in about 1912 - about a century ago (see more about this brand at English labels - Puck match) ! And the mask of the Puck imp, the "shadow" of which partly coincides with the "shadow" from the box, is not a later add-on, but is part of original drawing, that at the time was quite to the place!
This wonderfully survived century-old ad was shot by "rikj" this year in the town of Leeds (UK).

Seems that even Leeds authorities do not know about the existence of this wall ad antiquity - at leas a piles of modern equipment atop of the ad tell us that.
